1. Lachit Borphukan, was a notable military commander-in-chief from the Ahom Kingdom in Assam, India, during the 17th century. 

2. He was born on 24 November 1622 in Charaideo,  Assam.

3. Lachit Borphukan is best known for his leadership during the Ahom-Mughal War of the 17th century.

4. He played a pivotal role in defending the Ahom Kingdom against Mughal incursions led by Aurangzeb's forces.

5. Lachit Borphukan's strategic brilliance and military acumen are highly praised, earning him a legendary status.

6. The Battle of Saraighat in   1671 is one of his most famous victories, where he defeated the Mughal navy on the Brahmaputra River.

7. Lachit Borphukan's loyalty to the Ahom monarchy and his commitment to his people made him a revered figure.

8. His leadership inspired the Ahom soldiers to defend their homeland fiercely.

9. After the victory at Saraighat, he continued to protect Assam from external threats until his death in 1672.
